Deze beeldelementen kan men terugvinden in de schilderijen van Bob Pestman. De natuur zelf is zijn leermeester van wie hij nog dagelijks les krijgt. Wisselende wolken-formaties boven wateropper-vlakken waarin zij zich spiegelen, zijn in harmonie met hun omgeving. Sloten, plassen, havens en de zee zijn de favoriete onderwerpen, die hij met veel liefde uitbeeldt. Ook stads- en dorpsgezichten weet hij vast te leggen met dezelfde verrassende licht/donker-werking. Hij laat zich daarbij vooral leiden door de lichtval, die de sfeer van het moment oproept.
Het is duidelijk dat hij een bewonderaar is van het Impressionisme en de Haagse School.

Jarenlange ervaring heeft geleid tot beheersing van de aquarel- en olieverf-technieken. Naast zijn eigen, vrije werk voert hij tevens opdrachten uit voor particulieren, instellingen en bedrijven. Bovendien vervaardigt hij documentair teken- en schilderwerk, voornamelijk op het gebied van architectuur.
Bob Pestman studeerde aan de Academie van Beeldende Kunsten te Rotterdam en aan de Academie voor Beeldende Vorming te Amersfoort. Hij is lid van het Kunstenaarscollectief Gooi- en Vechtstreek.

These four elements are to be found in Bob Pestman's paintings. Nature itself is his teacher and he experiences new lessons almost daily. He is inspired by the subtleties of light, evoked by the atmosphere of the moment.
Changing formations of clouds, reflecting in watersurfaces, are in harmony with the setting. Ditches, lakes, harbours and the sea are his favourite subjects and he loves to paint them. He also knows how to capture views of cities and villages with surprising effects of light and dark.
It is evident that he is an admirer of impressionism and 'The Hague School'.

Years of experience have led to his command of watercolour and oilpainting techniques.
Besides subjects of his own free choice, he receives commissions from private persons, institutions and companies. Moreover he executes documentary drawings and paintings.
Bob Pestman studied at the School of Fine Arts in Rotterdam and at the School of Design in Amersfoort.
He is a member of the artists collective 'Gooi- en Vechtstreek'.
